Below are some of our frequently asked questions. Please don't hesitate to let a member of our staff know how we may better serve you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many services do you have? What style are they and what are the times?
We currently have two services with nearly identical liturgy.  At 8:45am there are hymns and songs being led by choir and organ, and at 11:00am there are hymns and songs led by piano and a worship team.

What Sunday Schools are available?
We have several Sunday schools available for visiting. The topics change quarterly. To view the list of classes click here.

What type of childcare is available? How does the nursery contact me if my child needs me?

Nursery rooms are available for infants – 3 years old for the worship service and Sunday school hours. Children K4 and older have their own Sunday schools to attend. If at any time your child needs you, you will be notified by a call to your cell phone.

Children are placed in our crib & toddler rooms based on developmental milestones.

In our preschool rooms, the children are grouped together by birthdate/school age, as
this enables the children to begin building relationships with the children
they will be with as they move into elementary school.

Visitors are asked to check in at the Children’s Ministry Welcome Desk for help in finding
the right room for your child!

What do older children do during the Worship service? Children in K4-K5 will attend part
of the worship service with their parents. Children younger than 1st
grade will be dismissed from the service prior to the sermon to attend their
own children’s church. At the end of the service, parents with children in children’s church can pick them up in the downstairs nursery wing. Children enrolled in 1st grade and higher grades stay for the entire service. Read more . . .

What activities/groups/ministries are open for me to be a part of? We have several
areas of involvement for all ages in the church. Mentor Moms, Derby racecar competition, VBS,
Senior adult activities, Women’s and Men’s retreats, youth groups, Safe Places,
and Wednesday evening activities are just a few of the offerings Mitchell Road
has for its attendees.

How do I learn more about what the church believes? What is the process to
becoming a member?
Mitchell Road is eager to share its beliefs with anyone who would like to learn more.  Three times a year we hold an Inquirer's Class, typically in March, July and November to explain Mitchell Road and its biblical basis of those doctrines. The class is essential if you are interested in becoming a member. Additionally, the church’s
website, www.mitchellroad.org has our philosophy of ministry and additional resources to read for a more complete understanding of the church as a whole.  Don't hesitate to ask a Pastor for further clarification.

What outreach/missions ministries is the church involved in? We have several outreach ministries that we are involved in and nourishing. Hispanic ministry and ESL (English as a second language), Center court, Safe Places, VBS, Good News Club, Campus Outreach Safe Harbor and Miracle Hill involvements, etc… are some of the areas where our attendees can find a place to use their God-given gifts to His glory. More information can be found under the "For Community" or the "For the World" tabs on our website.

Do you participate in mission trips as a church? Mitchell Road is a fervent supporter of Missions. We hold an annual Missions Conference each year, where we have the opportunity to hear from many of our church-supported missionaries, pray and encourage them during their stay here, and prayerfully consider how we can be missionaries in every area of our lives. We also have several opportunities every summer to travel with groups from Mitchell
Road on missions trips. Locations vary from Europe, Africa, Israel, Haiti, and the U.S. Please let
us know if you are interested in learning more about these exciting trips to
reach the lost for Christ!

Is there a school associated with the church?
Yes! Mitchell Road Christian Academy is located on church property and encompasses K3-8th grade students. Visit www.mitchellroadchristian.org to learn more.

If you have additional questions, please call our church office, 864.268.2218 and a staff member will be happy to return your call.
